A high-trust valuation, in a few confident taps

Good Buy Cars buys pre-owned vehicles quickly and reliably. I designed the digital experience end to end — a conversion-focused website and a step-by-step mobile valuation flow — wrapped in a brand system built to read in seconds, from a billboard to a phone.

Overview

A web and brand project as much as an interface one

Good Buy Cars needed a digital experience that could take someone from curiosity to a confident valuation, and a brand that could carry the same promise across every channel it appeared in — from the product itself out to outdoor and press.

Problem

Selling a car is high-anxiety and low-frequency

People sell a car rarely, and when they do the stakes feel high. That combination kills conversion: any flow that feels long, opaque, or asks for more than expected gets abandoned. The design problem was trust and speed — make progress visible, keep each step to a single decision, and reassure exactly where doubt creeps in.

My role

End to end — product and brand

I owned the whole system: the UX and UI of the website and valuation flow, and the brand and advertising that surrounds it. Designing both halves meant the jump from a billboard to the product felt like one continuous experience.

Process

Reduce a daunting task to its essential steps

One decision per step

The heart of the product is a guided valuation, broken into short single-purpose steps — scan your licence disc, confirm the details, set condition, get an instant value, then connect with a local expert. Clear labels and a visible progress bar mean nothing on screen ever competes with the one thing you need to do next.

Consistent from home to blog to social

The same discipline runs across the content and blog pages that answer "should I sell now?", and a social presence that carries the campaign line into the feed.

Legible from a phone to a billboard

A bold, high-contrast system with a single confident green and playful headlines carried across vehicle wrap, billboard, street-pole ads, full-page press and leaflets as one coherent voice.

Final design

Scan, value, connect — and a brand at highway scale

The valuation flow end to end, the wider digital footprint, and the out-of-home system that had to survive extreme range.

Outcome

A daunting task, made simple

One coherent system across every touchpoint — and, where it counts most, a valuation flow that turns a high-stakes decision into a few confident taps.

Reflection

The instinct I carried into SaaS

It's an early, end-to-end example of the instinct I've carried into product work: reduce a task to its essential steps, make progress visible, and remove every reason to hesitate.
